The Santee Riverkeeper Alliances mission is to promote respect, protect and improve the Santee River, Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie through education, advocacy and action. Goals include creating clean and healthy river and lakes that sustain life and is treasured by its people. To achieve this vision, we seek to accomplish the following objectives: sustain a RIVERKEEPER program, measurably improve water quality, reestablish native bio-diversity, and teach and practice a water ethic of ecological respect to all ages, and enforce environmental laws.
The Santee Riverkeeper Alliance is instituting a community/watershed based water quality monitoring program for the Santee River Basin. We are currently recruiting volunteers to assist with our efforts of gathering water samples.
What types of waterbodys can be tested? Any stream, lake, river, canal, pond etc. within the Santee River Watershed.
